Holland Park is a suburb of Brisbane, located 7 km from Brisbane’s CBD. Most of the area is residential, but a commercial district is located along Logan Road. This older suburb features many post-World War II wooden homes.
The suburb was named after Mr. Julius Holland, who owned large tracts of scrub land in the area. The Holland Estate, all 150 acres stretching from what is now known as Abbotsleigh Street to the vicinity of Arnold Street, and from Logan Road to Cavendish Road, were sold in 1882.
Holland Park is a quiet, leafy suburb with a mix of old Queenslander or post-war wooden homes and modern brick and tile homes with large backyards. It is a highly popular suburb for families, young couples and singles because of its proximity to the city and because it offers both convenience and great lifestyle.
It is close to the suburbs of Holland Park West, Mount Gravatt, Mount Gravatt East and Camp Hill.
LEISURE AND SHOPPING
There are a number of parks within the suburb including Seville Park, W.J. Scott Park and C.B. Mott Park. They offer picnic areas, playgrounds, bikeways and pathways.
You can purchase your essentials at the suburb’s shopping precinct on Seville Road. For major shopping trips, you can go to Samuel Village Shopping Centre or Carindale and Garden City, which are just 5 minutes away.
